One person has been killed in a motorcycle crash on the Eastex Freeway. The accident occurred Saturday afternoon on the southbound lanes of the Eastex Freeway, near Hopper Road, on the northeast side of Houston.

Officials state that at the time of the crash, a man was driving a motorcycle at high speeds in the southbound lanes of the Eastex freeway. The motorcyclist then struck the back left corner of a white Toyota, also heading southbound. The force of the impact caused the motorcyclist forward and propelled him into a nearby concrete wall barrier. The woman driving the Toyota also struck a concrete wall following the crash.

First responders arrived at the scene to find the motorcyclist had died as a result of his injuries. The woman driving the Toyota and her passenger, a child, were both transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
