Police state that the teen was driving west on United Drive. At the time of the accident, the permitless teen driver was attempting to make a left turn onto Sovereign when she struck and killed a woman walking across the street.

The driver and her mother, who was also in the car, remained on the scene and contacted the local authorities for help. Although the unlicensed teen was not speeding, the pedestrian succumbed to her injuries, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
