A pedestrian was struck and killed in a hit-and-run in northwest Houston this morning. Police state that the incident occurred this morning, at around 7:15 a.m., at a busy intersection in northwest Harris County.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez reported via Twitter that the incident occurred at 3200 West Greens Road, near Veterans Memorial. Police believe a vehicle struck the pedestrian, then fled the scene.

The pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced dead. Officials are working to investigate the incident and learn more about the pedestrian killed in the hit-and-run.
