A man has died on the Northwest side of Houston this morning after being hit and killed by a car driving by. The accident occurred close to 4 a.m. on West Little York Road, close to where it intersects Guhn Road.

The victim, a man in his 40s, had stopped after his vehicle had broken down in the early hours of the morning. The vehicle, a Chevy Malibu, was stopped in the middle lane, with the driver outside of it waiting for help.

Another driver, in a Nissan Rogue, hit the man standing outside of his car. Sgt. Dionne Griffith with the Houston Police Department stated that before the accident had occurred, someone had called to report the disabled Malibu, saying that it was a traffic hazard due to how dark that area of the road is.

The accident was cleared by 7 a.m.
