A driver has died following a deadly Beltway 8 crash. The accident occurred on the eastbound lanes of the Beltway 8 near the North Freeway interchange, at just after 11:00 p.m.

Police state at the time of the crash that a man driving a black Mercedes Benz was speeding in the southbound lanes of the North Freeway, entering the eastbound Beltway 8 ramp. He then struck the walls of the ramp several times at high speeds before his car went over the wall and fell, landing on the Imperial Valley Drive exit.

Officers reported that the driver, who was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. No other injuries have been reported, and no other vehicles were involved in the collision. Officials are still working to investigate the collision and determine if the driver was intoxicated or under the influence at the time of the accident.
