A child was struck and killed by a van in a tragic accident that occurred in Jacinto City. The accident occurred yesterday afternoon, at around 3 p.m., on Pillot Street.

Police report that the child, along with several other children, were in the van being transported back home after school. When the boy got home, he exited on the right side of the vehicle and crossed in front of the van in an attempt to go home. The driver of the van did not see him in front of the van, and struck him while pulling forward.

The child sustained head trauma, and was fatally injured by the impact. No other children were injured. The driver was questioned at the scene of the accident.
