Seven vehicles were involved in a major crash on the Eastex Freeway at Rankin Road. The accident occurred yesterday morning, at about 9:01 a.m., in the southbound lanes of the Eastex Freeway.
Details as to what led to the crash are still being investigated, but some sources are saying that an 18-wheeler crashed into two vehicles that had stopped on the freeway.
Houston police officials reported that a few people involved in the crash, including a pregnant woman and several others, suffered major injuries in the accident and were taken to nearby hospitals.
The Eastex Freeway was shut down for several hours following the Rankin Road crash, reopening hours later at about 1:30 p.m.
