Possible Suspension Failure Prompts Chrysler to Recall Popular Minivans

possible suspension failure prompts chrysler to recall popular minivans

The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently reported that Chrysler is recalling nearly 50,000 Pacifica and Pacifica Hybrid minivans. The recall comes from possible failures in the popular minivans suspension and steering components.

According to the NHTSA, if parts that connect key suspension and steering components to the right front wheel of the vehicle fail, drivers may lose the ability to steer or control the vehicle. Although no injuries or accidents have been reported due to the problem, owners have complained of buzzing, squeaking, and rattling noises while driving.

Owners of Pacifica minivans manufactured between November 1, 2017, and February 28, 2018, can contact local dealers to have them inspect and replace any necessary components, free of charge. The company will also reimburse any owners that have already had these parts replaced.

If you believe your vehicle has an open recall, you may check NHTSA’s website. When directed, plug in your vehicle’s 17-digit vehicle identification number into the NHTSA website. If your number does not appear, your vehicle does not have any open recalls.
